DW Lesson 2.1: Influencing Brawl

Here's a quick recap....

  • In DW Lesson 2, I investigated how to influence gameplay without being so heavy handed with restrictions.
  • As an example, I focused on Brawl.
  • By designing stages with incremental changes to influence the range of strategies available, I attempted to influence a more dynamic and balanced match between ROB and Kirby.
  • Both players were expected to "play to win" using any strategies within the game rules no matter how cheap they may seem.

The results are in. Take a look....

Everything that I designed into the stages worked out as expected. One thing that I didn't expect was how much fun the latter stages were to battle on. Success!
